An exclusive getaway in Cameron Highlands, Lakehouse Cameron Highlands is the ideal destination for nature lovers to be surrounded by the sweet smell of flora. This Tudor style boutique that overlooks the lush greenery woodlands is strategically situated nearby Tanah Rata and Ringlet towns with close proximity to numerous attractions.
Founded by a retired British Army officer, Colonel Stanley Jack Forster began the construction in 1966 and finally completed it four years later and opened its door as a boutique style resort. The founder managed the Lakehouse and another resort, Smokehouse between 1970 and 1977. However, Colonel later sold the Smokehouse to a wealthy businessman in 1977 and continued to spend his time running the Lakehouse Cameron.
History of The Lakehouse
Sadly, his children sold away the property in 1984 as none were interested in running the Lakehouse. Subsequently, the Lakehouse became HPL Hotels & Resorts property in 1989. Strategically situated about three hours drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre, the Lakehouse is located about 1, 000 metres above sea level thus, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular and breathtaking views during dawn and dusk. The Lakehouse is most famously known as situated in an area dubbed as “The Valley of Eternal Spring”.
