The Jabatan Kerja Raya Cameron Highlands is mainly involved in the maintenance and development of infrastructure projects around the district. It is a government department which is under the purview of the Jabatan Kerja Raya Negeri Pahang. The Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara Cameron Highlands or National Registration Department, District of Cameron Highlands is the government agency involved in providing registration services for the locals in this area. Like all other NRD branches across the country, it is the main government agency responsible for all types of registration for the people which will then be contributed to the national database of records. The common services provided at the JPN Cameron Highlands include application for new identification card (MyKad), registration for birth, marriage, death records, divorce and adoption of children. Besides that, foreigners applying or renewing their citizenship can be carried out at the department as well.

The Pejabat Agama Daerah Cameron Highlands is located in the town of Tanah Rata which is the main administrative centre of Cameron Highlands. The centre is under the purview of the Jabatan Agama Islam Pahang which is mainly involved in educating the general public and Malaysians about the teachings of Islam based on the Quran and Sunnah philosophies which is in line with the national proceedings and understanding. Known as the Cameron Highlands District’s Islamic Office, the department is responsible and fully involved in maintaining the teachings and doctrines of the Islamic religion and protecting it from abuse or any form of threat while spreading the religion among the people and community here. The Pejabat Kemajuan Orang Asli Cameron Highlands is managed under the purview of the Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli Malaysia or the Department of Orang Asli Department. Pejabat Kesihatan Cameron Highlands refer to the health department under the purview of the Ministry of Health Malaysia to serve the people of Cameron Highlands. Located in the town of Tanah Rata, it is situated at a pink-coloured building which can be easily spotted and seen from the main area here. At the Pejabat Kesihatan Cameron Highlands, people can enjoy basic medical treatment as well as any other information required for general health and wellbeing. The Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Cameron Highlands is basically the Education department responsible for this sector for the Cameron Highlands region. The department’s office is located in Tanah Rata which is the main administrative town of the hill station. As Cameron Highlands has several schools which are catered for the children of the locals here, the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah is very much involved in the smooth running of the institutions.

In fact, Cameron Highlands is home to 24 primary schools of which most of them are vernacular institutions and several secondary schools. This is where the department becomes the main liaison between the national Education Ministry and the schools.
