My Solo Trip to CH - Frustrated and Amazed - 2008/11/03 02:10 This is a brief summary of my visit to CH.

Day 1: Trapped at Tanah Rata Daniel's/Kang Traveller's Hotel

Took a 4 hours long bus journey from Puduraya to Tanah Rata. Kudos to da driver of Kurnia Bestari express bus. He is able to navigate the long and winding road to da top of CH without any accident.

It was raining cats and dogs that day. Upon arrival, register myself for a two night stay at Kang's Traveller Hotel. An affordable budget hotel with hot water, bath tub and double bed. Only RM55 per night. Have to say I am very happy with da package provided.

Nonetheless, it was still raining and drizzling until 4.00p.m. So, unable to move around. Decided to take a short taxi ride to Brinchang that night to see the night market. Lots of delicious food (fried mushroom, grilled corn and blah...blah..blah...) spent one hour there and return back to my room in Tanah Rata.

Have to say...wasted one whole day doing nothing!

Day 2 - Trip to BOH Plantation & Visitor Centre @ Sg. PAalas, Brinchang

Woke up 5.30 a.m. Its a damn cold day. I think the temperature was around 15 degree celcius. Went to the main bus station at Tanah Rata and waited for da earliest bus ride to Brinchang. I wait...wait...and waited for at least 1 hour. But no bus at all.

Ask around and was verbally informed that the company that manage da bus service (Regal) is unreliable. Frustrated and angry with that because a day before I went to da bus station and was informed by da people working there..."YES THERE IS BUS SERVICE @ 6.30 A.M' In addition, the schedule of da bus was clearly written on da counter.

Wasted another RM25 just to go to Sg. Palas. Since I am interested to take photo...I decided to walk from the base of Sg. Palas to the top of da BOH's visitor centre. I think da distance is around 2.5km. A bit tired but I have to say da scenery is amazing and awesome! Managed to capture some good photos there.

Decided to take a taxi to da Sg. Palas main junction. But, taxi drivers going up da visitor centre are not picking passengers down to Brinchang main road. What da F***.Waited and waited agin..still taxi drivers gave da same reason "have to carry da passengers in my car up and down da BOH's Visitor Centre.

Dissapointed again...lastly decided to walk back from da visitor centre back to Brinchang main road. Da Indian local staying there also got da shock of his life when I told him I just climb up and down da visitor centre.

Spent another 2 hours at da cactus farm, strawberry park and da honey bee farm. Strawberry park is NICE. But, da honey bee park is a JOKER! Free entrance and you see nothing at all! NO BEES are visible. Only stacks of man-made hive here and there.

My conclusion is:
1) Public transportation in Cameron Highlands is SUCKING all time. Taxis fare are expensive! Bus service - unreliable. Regretted travelling to CH without my own transportation.
2) Love da climate and view.

OK enough of ranting...Here are some photos I took:
